Finally ordered a new high speed camera today!

The Olympus i-speed LT. 1000 frames per second at 800x600, max. 2000 fps, full color!

Check it out on the Olympus website

The sales guy from Olympus was here today. Great service! He brought two cameras and we did actually slingshot test shots. Of course I loved the TR model even more (1280x1024, with a huge sensor) - but it was waaayyy out of my price range.

Delivery time will be about four weeks - can't wait! The biggest investment in my channel so far, but much needed.

No autofokus built in, but the lense is exchangeable (C-Mount). Slomo cams are usually tripod mounted and manual focus is all you need.

This is a last generation camera that comes with a very large display unit. Changing the focus is quick and easy as you see the changes immediately, not the slow updates on Destin's Vision Research Phantom.

This looks like a very good investment This should allow people to see how differant bands may interfere with the flight of a projectile Such as uneven weight pull between the two bands and how the differance in tension can pull the projectile to one side also it should be able to show what happens with the round bands that have taken on a non-straight set . Just a couple of suggestions im sure you`ve allready thought of . Thanks again for the vids and info

1k fps ... wow ... that little thing must be really hungry for light to do so!
Don´t you need additional light equipment?

Is olympus a godd brand for highspeed cameras? I´m all into digital slr cams and don´t have a clue about high-spped cams. I just know that Olympus is average at maximum in that sector...now i know why they still exist
Looks very promising, can´t wait to see the first results!

The light issue is why I wanted to test the camera before the purchasing decision. The camera has to deliver good images on a sunny day without lights.

It works very fine.

Indoor filming requires lights, but I have no application for that.

I looked at all of the available high speed cams, and Olympus has the right mixture of good products, fair prices and awesome customer service. Their high speed cams are very good, but their customers are usually car manufacturers (Audi, BMW, the likes) and universities. Few amateurs and videographers. By the way they are also very successful when it comes to microscopes.
