Seeing my previous Vayuputra design had fork hits, I decided to do this new engineering.<br>Two parts- Upper part made of old Seasoned Teak wood & Lower part made out of new Teak wood.<br>I inserted a coupler hex nut in the handle, and a threaded rod in the upper part. Screw in, that will give a self positioning upper arms portion when the bands are drawn. That is suppose to prevent fork hits.<br>Look at the photos-<br>This is the Hex Coupler nut that I inserted in the handle-<br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/HexCoupler.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/DSC02076.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>The two parts without hex nut and varnish-<br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/DSC02083.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>Finished parts. Screw in-<br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/DSC02101.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>Screwed in. Collage showing the movements-<br>The dots are the pores, that I filled with mixture of saw dust and white acrylic paint-<br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/DSC02098.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>Bands attached finally, and you can see the hand buffed glossy satin finish-<br>AND finally you can see FORK HITS <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_mad.gif" alt="Mad" longdesc="8"> !! I don't know how but, I tried one hex nut<br>which gave three fork hits. What happened?? <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_redface.gif" alt="Embarassed" longdesc="10"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/yourstruelyprince/DSC02103.jpg" border="0" alt="">

Looks pretty cool. I could be totally off the wall about this, but could those forks be a little too small/low for through the fork attachment? Also, why the hex nuts? Actually, the only time I have ever hit my fork is by shooting things besides spherical ammo. Other people say they shoot them well, though. I'm sure you'll figure it out. I think people have different reasons why it happens to them.

<span class="postbody"><br>Yes the fork should be little low. Actually I made it lower than the previous one, but I will make more lower. Anyhow the upper part can be screwed so I will make another smaller arm part. Actually I inserted that heavy hex nut in the handle to make it strong, as well as give a rotating movement, so that when the bands are pulled, the forks position themselves parallel. A bearing like action.</span>

looking at it for the second time, maybe you could try another band attachment

<span class="postbody"><br>Yes, you are right. I will try to make the upper fork lower and with horizontal band attachment.</span>
