Hi, I want to make some bands for my slingshot for hunting and I'm wondering what bands I will need.

The arrows I want to use are 32" so draw length can be no longer than that and they are 9.3gpi carbon arrows with a 150gr broadhead gives me a 450gr arrow which needs 200fps to reach the 40ft/lb of energy I'm after.

My best guess would be something alone the lines of 3x 18*3*2cm theraband gold each side but I am probably miles off

Any ideas? Thanks!

    The arrows are 450grain/30gram~

The problem with that calc is the output doesnt have any values.

It would be perfect if it had an input of desired velocity then it would be able to tell you what bands you need to achieve a speed for a given ammo weight OR it would be able to tell you the weight of ammo that would travel at the input speed for the given bands

EDIT: just picked up a roller cutter so i will cut some bands and report back with results.

At that long a draw you should only need maybe 40# to drive a 450gr. arrow up into the 200fps range. If you happened to have a draw weight scale, you could maybe reach your goal that way. 3 Rivers Archery carries a handheld draw scale for like $40. Not super cheap, but a very useful tool.
