Doing research for a book and wonder what's the best slingshot ammo for a hard surface, like a car window or windshield? From reading here and elsewhere, it seems steel balls would be the worst choice (ricochet potential). Maybe lead shot's a better choice? Or perhaps a hex nut or hex nut/bolt combo would be better? Scenario is a fairly long shot of thirty yards at an angle of less than 45 degrees (main character vs. the bad guys). Appreciate your time and advice.

Do you own a glass shop?
No, not a glass shop owner. I'm writing a book and the main character will shoot a slingshot rifle at a minivan windshield. I'm wondering what's the best type of ammo to use for a hard surface like that. The shot will be from twenty yards away and almost straight on.
