<div>I've been thinking. There are members in the forum from all over the place, and we each have our own locally grown wood that can be used to make slingshots. What's common in one place may be rare somewhere else. Who would be interested in trading raw forks? I read a thread recently where someone said that oak was rare where he lived and olive wood was common. Well I have the opposite problem. I own many beautiful Red Oak trees, but no olives grow where I live. If we all figure out who has access to what wood, I'm sure we can set something up where we can build up an inventory and trade with eachother in a way that benefits all of us and gives us easy access to a greater diversity of materials. Is anybody interested?</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

<div>I'm talking about just plain, unfinished forks. That way we can all make what we want out of them.</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

  8. Oak, Pine, Maple, Aplle, Cherry, Manzanita (Not really a tree but decently hard wood, pale white with deep purpleish red core), and a few others I haven't bothered to get close enough to identify. I'm in too.

  10. Oliander is scary stuff. Many years after burned the ash is still toxic.... Just a warning.

thats what my dad made his out of in the 30s he said that you had to varnish because of it

  12. There are for sure ways to be safe with it, I was just wanting to bring it to people's attention.

  16. I'm down for fork trading, just after the first of the year. Have to do Christmas around here and then send Jeorg some of my blowpipes to test. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2">

Personally I would wait at least after Xmas. Also.. do we speak about one fork? Or more forks? How many? Or what weight? <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" longdesc="15">

<div>I just figured people could just post a list of what they have and if someone is interested in trading then they can post pics and the dimensions of the forks and people can pick what they want from eachother. It could be one fork or a hundred. I'm just picturing this as an ongoing way that people can trade their local wood with eachother, not just a one time event.</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">
