Hey,
I made a Pulley Bullpup and i think it' s gonna be ok.
My only problem is, i don' t know how to cut the bands( i mean what length) .
If anyone can help me???
Here are some pics.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Johan
take the length from the trigger release to the rollers and divide by 5 then you will have your band length

to get the most from theraband gold you will have to stretch it 5 times the original length

cheers/Johan
The 5 to 1 ratio works, but you have to measure the whole stretch from the attachment to the rollers and then on to the lock.

It is best to use a length of string for doing so, the rollers "eat up" a surprisingly large amount of band length (about 2 times the diameter of the rollers).

Looks great so far!
Thank for the tips.
It already shoots great. I am now waiting for ammo from kughel winnie 10mm steel. Can' t wait.
Greetzzzz
gonna buy some. The 10 mm was for the slingshots i made. Now i gonna try other kind of ammo. My problem, here, it is not easy to find some. Even marbles is hard to find.
ahh stupid me, working all weekend so quite exhausted. I forgot the attachment points, thanks for correcting Jørg
Joerg:

I was wondering what size the rollers should be? In the Tutorial video you say they should be 5 cm and not 3 cm like the ones on the model you built. Is this true because 5 cm seems a little tall to me? If so what was the reasoning for lengthening them?

Thanks:

Paul G

3 cm forces you to draw out very accurately. Perfectly even. Otherwise, the bands can easily "climb" up or down over the edges of the roller.

5 cm gives you a bit more room.

Maybe this is a misunderstanding, 5 cm refers to the length, not the diameter of the rollers. It seems to me that tokSick's rollers ARE 5 cm long, maybe 3 cm in diameter (which is fine).
Hi

I am working on a pulley bullpup too. I use 4x9mm plywood. 2 layers for the trigger space. I will have the same thickness 36mm like original design. How to modify to use 10mm steel ball ? i will use band not stong as gold TB.

ty

Gaël
Joerg:

In your video of the bull pup you call the rear lever thing a ladle I think. Well I notice a disc shaped washer or something on the top side where the ball would sit. Is the reason for this to raise the ladle a bit? Or is that a ring shaped magnet to help secure the ball?

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, I am currently building 2 of these, one for my daughter and one for myself. I accidently got all the way to cutting out the pieces the first time and realized the scale was 89% !! Rather than giving up on the one I just decided to carry on with both sizes.
I attached the wooden disc because the lever (ladle) was a bit low, it did not cleanly release smaller ammo. If you saw the part out so that it is a bit higher to begin with, you don't need that disc.

A magnet works (for steel balls, that is), but you should set it in the face of the edge (the notch in the stock), so that the ball stays in place when you draw out the bands.

Good luck

Jörg
I like the foot replacement it seems easier although i would spray it if your going to hunt with it. Of course this is your choise but thanks for the idea i will use this idea when i come to make mine =]
did you use theraband purple? it looks so on the picture

nice design once again

They make two kind of band, medium and strong. The green one is medium and the purple is strong. I don' t know if it is equal to TB.
Hi Joerg or tokSick,

I've searched the forum but can't see it anywhere.

Just wondering about the bands on the Bullpup (mines just about finished )

I have the 5 to 1 ratio as stated above but should the band be tapered (large at attchment, small at pouch) or just straight cut?

Which way did you guys go?

Also, I love the purple bands tokSick, how many layers you got there, 6 same as Joerg?
I use tapered bands, simply because they are faster. My tapering is 2,8 cm (fork) and 1,8 cm (pouch). These dimensions allow you do cut exactly six bands from one length of TB.
