2. Looking good so far, as for ideas it sounds like you have everything covered. Can't wait to see it finished.

    I haven´t covert it yet.
I`m not shure what looks best.
Think I make micarte tomorrow and when it looks good i use it.
I don´t know if should just make the handle or even the fork?
I could round and polish the forkend and laminate the handle
Maybe after e few beer I know how to do...

  5. Oh, I thought when you said you were making micarte you were going to do the handle. If you still want suggestions I'd say laminate the handle, leave the nice shiny alu showing for the forks.

Would you round and polishing the complete forks?
Or should I just round and polish the tips (where the Band is fixed)?
I have some nice cherrywood board here for laminating...
gggrrrrrr too much ideas for one project.

  7. I'd probably round it, it just looks neater. And cherry wood has my vote almost every time!

The surface is sanded with 80 grid.

Not easy to make a pic of the surface

i´d do it like danny. something blue for a handle, rest polished.

he sandblasted the ss from the pic you linked in the meantime...i bet because polished aluminum is hard to handle, but i liked the shiny surface a LOT more.

If you polish the fork make some dents for fixing the bands.
Polished alu is slippery and the bands will move.
I would make a nice oe with the cherry wood.
I´ve still two projects with Alu.
After that, i will make a mixed with wood.

First, that slingshot looks awesome already.
I would make the handle out of wood or micarta and the tips of the forks with the same material as the handle.

    Hi,
thank you for the tips.
Now cherry wood is my choice.

I laminated the frame with two boards.
On the pics you can see the drawing for the next step.
If you have any ideas for the sideview of the slingshot, please post a drawing.

Zwillie

That one is gonna be awesome. Did you make a BP? If yes, do you want to share it? Pleeease!...
I love the non- complex designs, they mostly come out great. Must be because of your dexterity too, of course. Can' t wait to see the final piece, i am already in love!

You can just trace the contours of it on papper and scan it( if not too late ). Anyway, it looks not difficult to copy it, if you don' t mind of course.
