Hey all,

New to this forum, have been watching the videos forever though!

I'm currently trying to build some funky slingbow, and it's working out VERY well so far! It's not complete at all, needs the handle finished, a whisker biscuit, and an arm brace still. I also have to rethink my band attachment as it popped off last time I was shooting!

However, here is all it is so far:

- Two wooden hangers, glued and screwed together (will brace them together).
- Two CLOTHESLINE pulleys (removed plasic hanger part and screwed it down loosely)
- Metal tabs with two concrete anchors to hole the ends (thinking about clamping these instead)
- TheraBand Black tubes
- Bowstrings center with loop for release

So far I managed to pull off a couple of shots, even without being complete. I managed to still pull off a couple of 140+ FPS shots, aiming for around 170 once complete.

Anywho, it's not much of a looker and not done, but just wanted to get this section of the forum going!

-Mike

lol thanks, I think it's fun as well. When I was thinknig about how I was going to make it, I just walked around the house until I saw something that would work.

Once I eventually finish it, I'll get a video of it shooting.

Neat, you'll probably have better luck with a knot pushed into the band with a constrictor knot on the outside. It is a very solid and sleeker attachment method. Its a good idea (for your face) to test structural strength first under non shooting conditions like in a vise. Looking forward to seeing it shoot:D

Good call for testing in vise.

Can you give a little more detail on that attachment method?

I think Joerg has a video showing the attachment method (its for his tubular V slingshot with the internal bands and pulleys). The video is in German if I remember correctly but clear enough just watching it. Also, on YouTube there are good tutorials for both band attaching and the constricting knot utilized.
