My first Slingshot Rifle (update 22.08.12)

    <div>Hello ( Sorry for my bad English)<br><br>At first i want to thank Jörg for those great insperation.<br><br>The whole last week i spent every free hour on my projekt. The last time i was motivatet so strong was 5-6 years ago when i made a projektscooter :)<br><br>A few weeks ago i startet to build an slingshot Rifle but i did not know how i can realize an easy trigger system.As i searched at google Bilder if i can find any ideas i found your Videos.<br><br>The funny thing is the system how i can releas the projektil i was thinking about für a few hours and i found nearly the same system like Jörg uses in his xbow tutorial what i have seen a few hours later .     <div>Yes its als made of steel (Im a Fan of Metal) just the barrel (hope thats the right word) is made of Aluminium.<br>The rest I made at home from restparts of metal and trash from a metal working firm.<br><br>now i just wait for the therra band i´ve orderd 2 days ago....</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

When it's done ;you should be able put on it either the lamp or a destination device<br><br><br><br><strong><u>Some question for the pros. :</u></strong> for the flatbands TBG i followd the tips of Jörgs flatband algorythm but i wasnt convinved so i used one band more per side.<br><br>i should cut it for 100cm stretchlenght max power and a 14mm steelball <br><br>21,24cm long 1.17 at the pouch and 3.1cm fork and 2 bands per side i tried it so but i was not conviced with the result.<br><br>So i tried with 3 cm fork and 3cm on the pouch and 3Bands per side now i can sretch them ca.80cm but it shoots more hard and more far .<br><br>so i need some tips from you how i get the best result i want to shoot so strong and so far its possible.</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

    When I was building mine I started with the band calculator and had three 2.5 x 16cm bands per side which I could pull easily so I put one more on.. and then one more.. and eventually I ended up having 6 layers (actually 3 long ones folded in half so easier to put on) of TBG and can just barely pull that so I figured that must be the limit:)

    The band calculator is for handheld slingshots only. For crossbows, you have to increase the values by 1,5 to 2. This is to compensate for the draw weight loss when the rubber cools down. <br><br>In the summer, 1,5 is sufficient, in winter, 2 works much better. <br><br>If you use the stirrup cocking method, there is no problem handling the increased draw weight.
