It looks like Joerg' s six circles design. Am i wrong? I think Meranti is a very hard wood. Very nice ss.
...you´re right tokSick

very hard wood, but very good to handle...

I have tons of this wood and i´ve chosen very hard and heavy boards with a density of about 0,8 g/cm³ and a nice texture.

I am very happy about the result, a very nice shooter with strong bands

the next will be a moorhammer-style i think... a very nice design!

...does anyone know if there are blueprints for jörgs moorhammer desighn online?
Having tons of that wood would make me a lucky guy. I believe you when you say you' re happy with the result, it' s a really nice shooter you made there. About the Moorhammer blueprint i don' t know, but for the Hammerhead you can find the blueprint HERE . Can' t wait to see your next work. Best, Red.
thanks guys for the nice feedback

...tokSick: let me know if you need some of that wood, i evtl could send you a board. i think sending it to belgium in slingshot format wont be expensive...

I just sended you a PM. Thanks mate.
Nice one

And good to know meranti is a good wood for slingshots , cos thats the wood that i use most (easy to get where i live) altough i do laminate it to to get bit more strength. I did broke one before that was out of 1 pice but that was when i started and had a few fork hits .

Looking forward to youre moorhammer one

All the best
Good job!!!

Red meranti is good for making slingshots but it damages easily if you have a fork hit it withstands until 6,840 lbf/in2

I will post tomorrow my piccolo ss Laminated with 2 types of meranti
Saderath.
Does it make a difference if oiled and finished with super glue? I saw on the net wood hardeners. Is that usefull for that purpose? I mean for slingshots.
There are 2 cheap ways of hardening wood, Fire hardening and watered down resin glue. Wood hardeners are mostly used for decaying wood but Ive never used any. I don't think super glue will make a difference because it covers only the surface of the wood whereas watered down resin glue penetrates deep into the wood binding the pores together.
...i think thats right. this stuff is only for the surface.
i´m no friend of those hardeners, i think its nod needed if you have chosen a good piece of wood.

you can still take a piece of multiplex as corewood, that is nearly unbreakable and i´m shure thats cheaper than these hardener stuff

nice

at school, I am a slingshot expert

on this forum a noob

I think every super glue will do the job but i' m not sure. Watch THIS , he says what glue he is using but i can' t really uderstand what he said.
thanks...

i´m a little bit sceptic about that. I think this will work properly and look good on natural forks.

I should make a natural and try this out
I will try it on a piece of wood i have here. I don' t want to do it on a slingshot and take the risk of screwing it up. And how he does in the video looks like a lot of work to me( and i don' t have those machines). Sure the result is there but is it worth the effort?
