I should have the extra $ for a band set next week; whenever I do, I'll post the pic, and a short review of the performance.

Note: I left the one side larger than the other, because I cannot bend my thumb--let's just say that my stepfather had less-than-convential methods of punishment, lol. To carve it down, I used a paring knife and 800 and 220 grit sandpapers. I then coated it with acrylic sealer. It is still drying.

Kudos for using not much more than a kitchen knife.

Using a hacksaw, then a coping saw, I first made the basic shape with the coping saw, then shaped it further using my Dremmel, and 800/220 sandpapers. As the previous slingshot, I left one fork larger than the other to compensate for my handicap. I'm thinking of naming it "The Rose," after the ever-important rose from Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. It need some more work, I'll admit, but it is basically in the shape for which I am aiming. A "Gold's Gym" brand resistance band test has proven that it is strong enough to handle a dual-layered theraband pouch set--I used three layers of red R-band, a rough equivalent.
