So today with the help of my grandfather for cutting the wood I was able to create a moorhammer and it turned out fairly nice. I used 13 ply mating grade plywood for the center and red oak sandwiching the plywood. I also used the highest tensile strength exercise bands for bands and attached a leather ouch from another slingshot. Here's the finished product .

It's not exactly the same as Joerg's but I wouldn't expect it to be since the slingshot was handmade. I had a wonderful time making it and after hours of work I get to admire the piece of art that I made. With my own hands!

It looks great you should sand it down and put some polish or oil on it to make it shiny.

    Looks good:)
Some sanding and oiling will increase the bandlife.

I could definitely do it a couple more times to make it look nicer but I like it how it is

Turned out beautifully. Good work though could use a bit more oiling to preserve the wood

It's always a good thing to see the Moorhammer species being propagated.

Yes Bill - any time you use mating grade plywood you will get that.

    Good job!
I would like to make a suggestion - on the handle part above palm sweel put a bigger radius for higher gripp and round the edges for a comfortable gripp. I think it will requere less effort to draw stronger band and impruves comfort for them long shooting sessions.
    Keep the good work up!

I love it! Does the sharp edge on the grip hurt your hand?
