    Hi everyone!

This one goes out to my friend with that "K", WithaK!-
A Name which is correct, yet hiding the most important part.

Which would be his big heart.

As I wrote somewhere before, George Carlin built a "bridge to my heart".
Again, after many years of a rather negative picture of "The Beautiful"
prevailing in my mind. Subjectively, emotional.

Now this guy from Oregon walked over that bridge,
straight into my heart, into my home.
Knocking me off, tearing down walls.

He made me a big gift!

By showing me how much I was wrong, letting go all the
positive memories of my past life concerning the US.
Manipulated by media, used by few to control many..

Reminding me of the fact that there´s people living
over there. Friendly people. Good people.

    But what did he do?-

He asked me if he could send something in "return", cause
I said I´d send him some "le Tonkinois" (linseed oil).

And he did send "something", which is an understatement,
    like that K-thing above.. ;)

The package I was allowed to receive contained many things.
Physically. But in fact it´s only one thing.

Starting with a letter! a real letter! Printed though, but I felt ashamed
to have only sent that oil, focusing on stupid things, like the weight
of the package :( . That letter was the first real letter for many years,
Frank, warm and telling the story of Miss Maroni, which is my nurse and
queen, helping me out of that nasty, painful tennis-elbow pain.
    And got me slingborn again.

This is my new love: american chestnut, CA finish, TBB, cozy pouch. Lovely.

    To do us good

But that wasn´t all!- Not by far!

When the family finally was complete again at November 1st, first
thing I had to do (after lots of hugging, of course) was to present
    "the package from AmeriKa"..

My wife unfolded a big map of Oregon, after a few clicks we were there..

There was a little catapult for my daughters, besides two pictures Withak´s
    daughter painted for my girls..

Some self-aiming balls made of cryptonite :),
    a superpouched TBG Bandset,
beeswax (which will for sure end up in ancient portuguese finish,
after Arturo was kindly asked for the recipe again..)

    And then: MOONSTRUCK Chocolate, strike!

That one got me!- he sent chocolate, (which could be regarded as
an attempt to let me gain even more weight :) - but that would be foolish)
which is a symbol for many things, I took it as to do us good.
    Which you did successfully.
That chocolate instantly was declared a treasure, will be
    sweetening X-mas eve..

    Thank you my friend!

    Be

What a very kind gift!! This is great work too, and it really is a beautiful slingshot!
This type of generosity and kindness is what sets this forum apart and makes it such a great place to be!

    perfectly right

    Perfectly right you are, Will!

plus, in this case, WithaK´s decision to put on TBB was a perfect decision!
since my tennis elbow came to life (october 7th!), there was no way of
even thinking about shooting.. The first shots I made (maybe 15 during
the last 6 weeks) were gifted by Miss Maroni, she enables me to hope
for a time where slingshooting can be done painlessly again and will
help me get back to training.

Thank you, my firends!- For being out there, for taking care!

E is without a doubt a very fine example of a really good dude! having him as a partner in the last trade gave me a gift far beyond a cool slingy, the true gift was his friendship. hes a very genuine person and im proud to call him my friend. T, hope that olecrans heals soon so you can shoot as much as your heart desires.

I'm glad you liked it Be. It really wasn't that much, but truly, it was inspired by some of the other trades I've seen here on the forum. I think perhaps your kind words in return are greater than the package itself. Very generous. You do have a way with words that few can match, Be.

As Be and I were chatting about the special oil he was sending me, he had sent a picture of his daughters, which I showed my daughter - his oldest is close in age to mine. She asked if she could send a picture to the girls, something she likes to do. The little catapult is one I made for her originally, but she asked if we could send that as well. I told her we could always make another. As she was in a generous mood, I couldn't help but encourage such a kind heart developing in this little girl.

And I will point out again, as I did in my original post on this trade, that Be approached me, unsolicited, to offer to send me that Le Tonkninois with no strings attached, just because he wanted to - and ended up including some extras as well, including a sanding tool I use almost every time I build.

In the end, it was a great trade. This is my second with a forum member here, and I've added another friend to the list. This is really unlike any other forum I've been on. It's great to see the kind folks here sharing good will around the world.

Thanks for the nice post Tobias.

+1 on that Dolo. I really enjoyed getting to know you during the course of the trade. You showed me something about generosity yourself by including more than the trade slingy (awesome by the way), but included the second one as well, above and beyond, and also a great hand-written letter with a story about his town and the inspiration for the slingshot. Dolo is a great guy himself, one I count as a friend too.

I forgot to ask, Be - how did the other 'catapult' work for you? :)

    Hey Withak,

that popsicle catty works great- the kids have lots of respect ;)
.. squinted eyes.. :). But the cap didn´t fall off yet..
In case it does, I plan to sew it on to that cat-arm..
    (which I forgot to write)

    best of regards,

    Be

p.s.: Forumtech unfortunately does not react..
So I will have to solve that issue otherwise..
Do you think the guy that will send the last would mind
if I PM´ed his address to the others?- then I could try
some pyramide/snowball system.. just let me know..

That Chestnut fork is... lovely. Yes, that's the word I was looking for... lovely. And it came with, shall we say, 'sweets for the sweet'. Withak, that was a class act.
