Here is a Mesquite natural from the tree my neighbors cut down a few months ago. I got to harvest several forks before they took it to the chipper. I added Walnut on the handle and fork tips and Ironwood on the heel of the handle. I pinned the walnut with 1/16" brass rod, 5/32" brass tubing and 1/8" carbon fiber rod.

Nice! Looks like it has a nice palm swell.

The palm swell isn't much higher than the original material. I sanded the fork on a diagonal and pinned the walnut and ironwood to the mesquite. I also pinned through the fork tips to reinforce the walnut to mesquite joint. I finished it with superglue and polished it with my headlight polishing set. The frame had a really cool void in the saddle of the fork that I filled with crushed stone. I can take more pictures this evening, when I get home from work if there's anything inparticular you'd like to see better. The first picture is before the finish and the second shows the crushed stone and pins through the fork tips. I have it banded up with TB Gold.

I only wish that the pictures looked as good as the real thing. I'm not a great fan of naturals, but this is one of the nicest slingshots I've made in the 7 months I've been doing it.
