Meranti Drum from old palettes

    Hi,
    here the answer to the wonderfull drum of achso_42 :D

    Because of my low budget I made a new recycling drum from old meranti palettes.

    Here the pics:

    Raw wood with hundrets of nails :mad:

    very nice!! did you only get one out of that blank? to me it looks like you would still have quite some left.

    Hi,
    yes I got about 2m³ of this wood.
    They use it as firewood :(
    So I can get the wood for free. (some beer)
    I will build a complete drumset from the meranti.
    It is the same wood I used for my moorhammer.

    firewood?!?!:eek: that's a pity:mad: gotta look around and see if they do the same here, only getting some beer would be a problem but if i can find some i'm sure i can find a way to get it too...

    looking forward to the rest of the kit & nice moorhammer!

    That is some gorgeous wood there. Looks so much better your way than coming out of the chimney.

    Reminds me of the coffee table I grew up with. My pop made it from mahogany Honda minibike crates in the 70s.

    I guess that's why the nail holes look so cool to me inside your sweet drum.
