I made two of the PSA (Penetration Slingshot Ammo) that Romanian Scout Team uploaded on YouTube about two months ago. I have "drop-tested" them and throwed them. It seems to work <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br><br><img src="http://i11.servimg.com/u/f11/17/50/40/49/pict0010.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><br>Made from arrowtips, string, electrical tape and a rubberband. The one to the right is a bit more pointy so it penetrates easier, while the one to the left is a little heavier = more momentum. I will hopefully be able to test them tomorrow. Cant wait! <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png" alt="Very Happy" longdesc="1"><br><br>Also, I got a YouTube Channel now, AlfredB666. You can expect some slingshot video soon!<br><br>//Alfred aka Failure

but they are way too light for sticking in harder wood. only 9 grams. next ones i make i will fill in the front part with lead.
That frayed nylon rope is a good idea. these may not be as effective as a pana dart, but there is less chance of them coming back at your face.
this works also for blowguns.<br><br><a href="http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=29&u=17552695" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i17.servimg.com/u/f17/17/55/26/95/mini_b11.jpg" border="0" alt=""></a>
Wow, those look really nice! <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png" alt="Very Happy" longdesc="1">

Guys, I tested this! Of course I had to make it extra strong...<br><br>From a sharpened 12mm stainless steel rod and 16/12mm stainless steel tubing... weighs 42 gramms, like a 22mm steel ball. <br><br>Works very good - but takes some courage at first. I used my safety "snail shell" model for the first tests <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2"><br><br>BTW, I first saw this from a guy called "RomanianShadow". If might make a video about this on Sunday and will give him plus our very own Failuresalwaysanoption credit for the idea. <br><br><img src="http://i75.servimg.com/u/f75/16/32/46/92/armor110.jpg" border="0" alt="">
Smart idea using the safety shell, and nice and heavy "darts"!
Looks pretty pointy <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_pale.gif" alt="pale" longdesc="26"><br>Are you gonna test it in gelatine?
That is a cool suggestion toksick!
I am curious <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_bounce.gif" alt="bounce" longdesc="27">
Wow, that is taking "bad-ass" to a totally new level!

I melted the end of the rope with a blow torch, then pressed it in. Formed a perfect, hard cylinder. Drilled a hole through the tube + rope end, secured it with a pin. Rock solid. <br><br>Then, after the rope was secured, I unravelled the rope strings. <br><br>

<span class="postbody"><br><br>Great! Thanks Joerg!</span>
I can report that this works very good! A week or so back when we had a few degrees plus I decided to try it out, using the slingy I got from Onnod:<br><br><img src="http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/17/50/40/49/onnod_10.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br>More pics of it <a href="http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/17/50/40/49/onnod_10.jpg" class="postlink" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">HERE</a>!<br>The PSA flew right trough my Arrow-target, wich is made from some very compact and sturdy sterofoam. I would have posted some pics of it but small holes in the target does not look very exciting <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" longdesc="2">
ow wow, i've got to find me some arrowheads!
Did you ever get around to make a video for this, Joerg?
G
