Hey, guys. This is my first post on here. I have a Crossman slingshot, and a slingshot I made out of some tree in the woods behind my house. Not sure what type of tree... I don't want to make a separate thread, so here is a quick pic of the wooden one before we talk about the MAC-10 slingbow:

A while ago I ran across someone shooting arrows out of their slingshot. I had to do this. After digging through a few bins of parts that are bad. I scrounged through it for a minute and came across a bad mag housing, a back grip that had been ground down further than we allow, and found some scrap pieces of 1/2" steel wire. Perfect.

After a little measuring, chop sawing, Dremeling, TIG welding, sand blasting, and black oxide action--I came up with this:

I don't know what type of bands I am going to put on it yet. I may make a plate for the top of the mag housing so there isn't an open hole. I will be looking around at my options. Also, I am going to cut a 30 round polymer magazine down and use it to hold a "survival kit."

    Thanks!

Any recommendations for what bands to use on the slingbow? I have always just used the Daisy Powerlines from Wal-Mart.

I was leaning towards the Theraband Gold. Any good place to order a sheet?

Yes, I call it that because it is a MAC mag housing and backgrip. I chose to use it because I figured it would be great to use some heavy bands considering the guns are pretty comfortable even with the recoil of the gun.

The arrow rest is an angle grinder tool.

I buffed the sharp edges down so it would be smooth. I may put some felt on it to make it smooth and quiet.

Nice! I think you should weld some small steel plates to the top of the forks facing outwards like 1" x 1/2" with some little notches for wrapping them on and shoot through the fork.

I was going to wrap them around the forks vertically as the forks are now. Would that not work well enough?

Very nice work, will you be shooting through the forks or over the top with the slingbow? I assume as it's a slingbow it's better to shoot through the forks to be closer to the arrow? As for the bands my only advice would be Jorgs seems to largely use bands rather than tubes for arrow firing devices, most of the small ones seems to have TBG so that seems best choice.

Great job man. Most of the slingbows i saw have tubes on it. I think it is because it last longer than flatbands. If i am wrong, please correct me.
