Lilac-aluminium combinatin

  1. Hello everyone!
Yesterday I made a Slingshot with a aluminium core and lilac scales. I love the wood because it is so dense and when you work with it, the whole house smells like a perfumerie! I harvested a old lilac-tree in our garden a few years ago. The wood tendents to split, so I can only use small pieces. And I think the grain and the wood are amazing. For the finisch I used linseed oil.

That's a beautiful little shooter. And the lilac scent is just a bonus! I wish we still had lilac in our yard, I miss them.

  7. You haveto be really careful when you want to dry the wood. Otherwise it would simply splinter! I can only use maby 30 percent of the wood I harvested. The rest is useless.

cool minimalistic design. its so little so cuteee.
EDIT: Why not make holes in the forks for the tubes? Would look better. I can see the tubes goes through the holes and you insert a small alu cylinder into the ends of the tubes with a biger radius then the holes. would be much cleaner looking and fit the minimalistic simple design .
