I made 6 identical slingshots for a game for scouting ( already gave one away for testing) While making them I took in mind that there are a lot first time shooters. So the hammer grip makes it easy to handle. The arms are higher then my own slingshots, so that they won't shoot their hands. And the multiple layers of rubbers make it a safer for when one would break.

It´s made from a piece of leftover multiplex from a recent rebuilding. It´s 24 mm. high quality waterproof multiplex ment for outside purposes. I didn´t had to laminate myself to get a thick handle and it's very solid without no cavities. The rubbers are just regular postal elastics. But the first half is 3 strings and the second half is 2 strings to emulate the tapered effect. (It actually works. Because of the knot-movement it's visible the second part is streched to the max first. And after that the first 3 strech.

I myself don't shoot that much. But for the game, last year we used thick glass marbles of about 2 cm. I guess we use them again but perhaps we use small ones so we have more and can let the game continue for longer so we don't have to pauze for retrieving the ammo. But those bands where not like this, Actually the entire design of the slingshots (and especially the pouch) was awfull.
You can actually see the game here on my youtube account. http://youtu.be/QrggN47jZY8?t=1m30s

Everyone had their name on a (ultra cheap Ikea) plate. And if' "you" are shot down, your out. So the purpose is to take out the other groups as fast as possible. You can see they are not used to shooting, they're holding it wrong. So together with the bad design it wasn't that easy.

We made a video of the games I made these slingshots for. We used ultracheap €0.35 IKEA plates to shoot at. And the tables were seriously damaged by the marbles.
The video is actually from the entire camp, so skip to 3:35 for the shooting.

At 6:49 you can see the real-life AngryBirds game we had. I made it from a huge amound of postalrubbers and the pouches were made of duct tape. Actually, even to our own surprise that worked extremely well. Hey Jörg you also once had the idea do something with Angry Birds right?
