So I have been lurking the forums for a few days and having finally watched every sling shot video I could find I decided it was time to say hi. I am relatively new to making slingshots and my first two are made off from mass produced Daisy/Marksman Frames. It took weeks of searching and testing to finally put together something worthy enough of appearing on here, so yesterday when I received three nasty slaps to my knuckle I decided it was time. Hopefully once I get some pictures and videos online someone can help me figured out why this is happening, maybe the bands are just too powerful for the designs. Well I have rambled on enough, Catch ya'll on the flip side. :]<br>

<tr><td class="quote">Hello and welcome. Nice slingshots you got there. I like the first one, two in one, nice. About the hand slaps i think if you use heavier ammo, or, lighter bands it will be ok. If i am wrong, please,... someone,.... ???</td></tr>

<span class="postbody"><br>Thanks a bunch, they are not pretty but pretty functional :] The band set is black and the ammo is either 1" rocks or quarter inch steel balls, I am receiving the slaps using my marksman w/ arm brace. I thought hand slaps and miss-fires would be less likely considering its design but some how it keeps happening.</span>

<div>Toksick has it right, improper weight ratio between band set and ammo seems to be the cause of handslaps. lighten the bands, maybe find lighter leather, or get a bit heavier ammo ... experimentation is the fun part <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png" alt="Very Happy" longdesc="1"><br><br>welcome to the fan club!</div><div class="clear"></div><div class="signature_div">

The black band set has already worn a hole just above where the right band connects so I will try a new pouch setup with slightly shorter bands. It does seem that when I increase the weight of ammo the slaps don't happen. I went to shoot a piece of plastic into the trash this morning and ended up whacking my knuckle good so I guess heavy ammo is the answer!
