Heh, I got a little hyped up today waiting for my first slingshot to arrive in the mail (Dankung) and whipped this up for fun out of a drumstick...
I shot pennies at a cardboard backstop @ 10 feet for a few minutes until is was clear that pennies werent a reliable projectile, and that if I continued I would have to explain to my wife how I was testing a slingshot in he apartment when I broke something... I bought some dry garbanzo beans to try next! He he.

    Made some improvements...
Paracord, leather pouch from the tongue of an old boot, and a smarter and more powerful band setup with 3 #64's. The only thing I am having a hard time with is figuring out exactly what kind of string I should get for tying pouches on with the constrictor knot. People seem to say "unwaxed cotton" and leave it at that. I tried to use an inner strand from a piece of paracord and not only is it "not cotton", but it broke in 1/2 quickly when I tried to cinch it tight with pliers.

So, I just used the "wrap and tuck" method with another #64. I cant believe that it works so well, but I would still like to figure out what kind of string.

Could also use some advice on the pouch size. Mine is (inches) 3 1/4 X 1 1/8. which actually feels pretty good, but seems big maybe because the SS is very small. Its (inches) 5 3/4 long and 2 1/2 wide.

To answer my own question, and perhaps help out someone else in the future, I heard mentioned several times "unwaxed cotton butchers string" and found some easily. This seems to work best for tying rubber to pouches. I still like using a #64 to secure the bands to the fork.

I put a narrower and thinner leather homemade pouch on it and it improved my accuracy immediately.

Good times.
