Well, it was a long wait, but my Rambone finally showed up yesterday. I ordered it from Simple-Shot the day before the recall. Nathan was nice enough to ship out the other items I ordered and kept those of us on hold updated periodically via email as to when we could expect to receive them - great service!. And yesterday it finally arrived. I didn't have a lot of free time, but I did band it up and take about 10 shots. I'm pleased with the grip and how it shoots. I'm looking forward to giving it a more thorough workout in the near future.

The finish is different than I expected, it's smooth and glossy. I guess I was expecting something more like a Bill Hayes or Scout type finish. Not bad and no complaints at all, just surprised. It looks nice and fits great in my hand. Nice design Joerg!

The Rambone is shaped in a way that it does not need a rough finish, it feels like glued in place.

I am glad the shipment made it through customs, Helmut had some problems last time. The boxes got returned to Germany. He is still trying to find out why. Probably some wrong number on the declaration form. Sorry for the long wait!

No worries on the wait - Nathan did a great job of keeping in touch with his customers to make sure they knew they were still coming. As for the finish, yes, it does remind me of that lacquered Rambone! Yes, I do like it, and yes, it just sits rock solid in the hand. It's a great design.

I ordered mine with single layer TBG - it came with 2cm wide bands, about 26cm long, no taper.

The bag my Rambone bands came in says 7/16 - 1/2 TBG so I assume a slight taper?

Isn't it great though! The thing I really like is the fact it automatically locks into a repeatable position each time you tension the bands which helps accuracy immensely.

I don't recall seeing any mention of the band size on mine - I simply measured it and don't see any taper. But mine came from Simple-Shot, so I would say it's entirely likely you got a different band set. And yes, it does just lock right into shooting position, that's going to really help with accuracy.

Just this little sticker on the back of the bag, but yeah, entirely possible its a different bandset. Its not going to make any difference, I'm sure you will enjoy shooting it no matter what it has on it
