All this talk about Superfly shooting & Joerg's Buttless starship & "rope Trick" got me to thinking. If it is the "wrist brace" that's illegal, what about a shoulder brace, Like an ancient crossbow, that rests on the shoulder/arm. Here is a photo of my mock-up. It's a piece of 1" (26mm) EMT x 96" (244cm) long. There is a pistol grip handle 36" (91.5cm) from the fork. I used some orange ribbon instead of rubber so it shows up in the photo. The full draw is about 94" (240cm). The shoulder rod rests on the arm or shoulder at the start of the draw. At full draw the rod rests on the right forearm and also against the right shoulder & breast. I bet that even with light bands the speed would be impressive. With heavy bands your targets will cringe with fear. I better start eating my Wheaties if I'm going to be able to pull bands that far. What do you guys think?

Hey Joerg. Do you think this would be legal in Germany?

k

I think it would be tough to classify that as a wrist brace and as long as you don't shoot policemen you would probably get away with it.
You could also try doing this like with a telescope extension so you don't need a van to move around with it I always think compact lol
Good luck anyway
Cheers

GREAT mockup! My kind of thinking, exactly.

Is it legal in Germany? That would be up to the judge. The law leaves him enough room. So I think taking it to a demonstration in Berlin's embassy row would be... risky.

Shooting it in rural Germany's hinterland, no problem.

I'll try it. We are no pussies here at The Slingshot Channel.

I did sleep, but only after I did some thinking.

Halloween is in a few days... so I had to decide what kind of "special" I have to offer to my fans this time.

Following the superfly hype Gary "Flatband" Miller started recently, I took the idea to the extreme. I want to achieve a draw of, say, 4 or 5 meters, around 15 feet.

How do I do this? Well, see my sketch.

Killer, maybe it should also have a pivot around the foot so you can rotate the whole thing like a tank tower? Also I think it could use some special ammo since it can probably shoot really big stuff?

I really like that one Kyl, that is a real mans slingshot, suitable for defense of the homeland in Palestine!

Now we get to see Joerg blow it out of the water

RTZAS = Roof Top Zombie Annihilator Slingshot!

Had a day off and made it.

I changed the construction a bit, the stick is now undernath the bands - works better that way.

I get a draw of 370cm = 147 inches. Not bad!

Drawing it out is really easy, you take two steps towards the "fork", load a ball in the pouch, and then you grap the stick and walk backwards. After you have reached the shooting position, you draw out into full butterfly just as normal.

This is absolutely frightening when it comes to power.

Will make the video in time for Halloween!

    Very BIG Joerg!

Hey Kyl, you might just set up your's like I did the "Basic Predator Slingshot Rifle".... Just make it longer. The half handle holdback on the end allows for much stronger bands and greater accuracy as well...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbfNyMNi20U

NAH!!!!! That is sick Joerg! I love it! Talk about Power and speed. Hey, if we do have any problems with Zombies, I'll take care of the smaller dead ones, Kyl gets the mid-range dead zoners, and Joerg will take care of the monster dead walkers-it will be messy!!!!! Flatband

Oops, I was testing this thing out and I think I shot down some old German satillite into southeast Asia. Ha! Not Really.

I haven't had time to band this up yet. It's bear hunting season till Saturday and I'm trying to spend all the time in the woods that I can. Maybe this HSS (HyperSuperflyStarship) would kill a bear but I have more confidence in my .375 H&H magnum.

I'm feeling so fly, now that I'm in the Superfly Acadamy. Thanks Flatband.

I did find a good telescoping pole that should work. It extends from 55" (140cm) to 100" (254cm).

I like your RTZAS, Joerg. I can't wait to see it in action. Seeing that picture of you standing on the board, makes me think you are riding on your Zombie Defence battle scooter or maybe Santa's zombie slingshot sleigh or a slingshot surf board. Think how fast you could mobilize your Zombie Defence Squad (ZDS).

Hey Bill, I will certainly consider the rear half grip or some such permutation. I made a very effective slingshot pistol based on your basic slingshot rifle idea. I'll post it when I get the chance.

OK Joerg, What if, for Halloween, you made zombie heads. You could cast the ballistic gellatine into a head shaped mold with a blood filled skull inside. Like a glass jar filled with fake blood. How many zombie heads will this RTZAS penetrate?
I wonder if a golf ball would penetrate a zombie head?

I think Flatband is right. It could get messy.

k
