Made out of 3/4" plywood, paracord and surgical tube. I have yet to try theraband black tube but I think these tubes work great and might even have more power.

After testing it today with some homemade arrows (oak dowels with duct tape fletching) I noticed It might not have the power for hunting. I think If i shorten the rubber I can get what I am looking for.

I still have some more rasping/sanding to do and I need to make hand scales. The string stoppers are built right into it and work great.. It's coming together nicely and was very easy to make.

Thanks for checking it out!

for power, use theraband tubing silver or double layer of black.

It isn't strong enough yet.. but I was sticking arrows in a tree at 25 yards. I'm thinking of shortening the rubber on this band set and like ahlver jonsson said I will most likely use silver tube.

Does anyone know which is stronger? Black Tube. Silver Tube, or Surgical Tube?

silver tube, you can achieve a 50 pounds draw weight with it.

In Joerg's 120 lb. Slingbow video he has a set of theraband black tubes doubled to achieve 50 lbs. I wonder what the silver tube would be at If that was doubled as well.

Draw weight is not the most important thing with rubber powered weapons. You want to make sure you stretch the correct rubber for the weight of projectile almost to its max (that means like 500-550%).

Make sure you have pre-stretched bands correctly to adhere to the 500%.

If you just use stronger rubber, it will not be able to deliver most of the energy to the arrow.

Thera band yellow or red tubes should work for the lighter arrows fine.

That build oozes of cool! I've been looking to build something like that myself but I never got around to it. Been thinking about trying to put some more tension on the "riser" part or the middle of the "bow" sort to say by using a joint and some tubing on the outside? Makes no sense in scripture I guess, but really nice build that!
