Hello and welcome to my first thread :)

I wanted to show you my new Ballista, it fires 1 meter long and 18mm thick arrows.
I tested it on a target made of two archery targets glued together.
As you see on the picture the first shot penetratet the whole target.
Its actually so strong, the 6mm PP-rope I used as Bowstring broke at the third shot.

Stay tuned: Better photos will be posted.

That looks like a LOT of fun to shoot. I'd love to see a few more shots of it from various angles. Have you considered posting a video of you shooting this?

    Thanks,:)
It is realy fun to shoot :D
Tomorrow I'll make a video, I just made a new bowstring out of paracord.
Can't wait to test how far it will shoot.

And I need some advise : I need Arrowheads for the Arrows, any Ideas?

You could maybe buy some scalpel heads.. they are cheap and make good arrow heads after a bit of modding

or the broader box-cutter blades, they make great hunting arrows

I use very large nails as the heads in my home made bamboo arrows.

(I'd love to see a vid of it in action too please :) )

    Hi
When I tryed to make the Video some Technical difficultis appeared, I fixed them, but my camerawoman just went back to Bremen.

So Today I modified the Barrel so now I can also shoot Golfballs or any other round objekt uo to 40 mm. And I ordered 30mm Steelballs.

So my video will contain more than one kind of ammo.

You can suggest at wich objekts I should shoot. Of course I will buy a coconut or two. My training shild will also be destroyed.

As for arrowheads, your arrows are too big for scalpel or boxcutter blades. I think you need to cut a head out of a circular saw blade myself. I have done it with a dremel to make ninja stars. Have to take your time, but once that's done, you can file it sharp and insert it into a slot in the wood, glue it and bind it with thin cord.

    Welcome to Slingshot forum:)

I see that your ballista has some serious power! Can you say me what material was used to make that bow? Looks like flattened PVC pipe.

    Hello
I just want to show you two Kinds of ammo I prepared for the Video and a Nice Picture of the whole Ballista.

First the Ballista in all its Beuty :D

Then my new arrowheads made from angles(not sure if its the correct word) they are sharpened and realy heavy.

And two Pingpongballs (or Tabletennisballs?) filled entirely with .177" steel BBs. They should work just like a frag grenade on impact, I guess.
I planned to make two more of those with bigger steelballs.

And I made a Golfball-Bola, it will apear in the video since its a very cool projektile.

    It is.

However, these things were used in medieval warfare... one has to wonder about such a weapon. I mean, it's still gonna spear just one or two people at best.

THat said, it looks like lotsa fun :)

Just fired a crowbar :) not vey far but with the additional glasfiber I'll get tomorrow it's gonna be possible to shoot it with descent power.
Also I made a 40mm Paintball out of a tabletennisball filled with paint, then testfired it against a wooden board: a pretty mess :)

looking forward to make that video for you :D

Not very pocketable but very effective. :D
If i had enough space to stock that kind of weapon i' d love to try building them.
Very nice job on that monster! I love it!!
    Keep on the good work.
