I like my modded Cobra crossbow pistol a lot - but I always wanted a pump action version so the hands can stay in place.

Designed my own version, but outfitted it with the Cobra prod because it is so cold right now and I want a reliable weapon.

Made a full tutorial, you can see the blueprints (raster size = 5mmx5mm) in the first picture here. You probably have to print that one out in two pieces and then tape it together - at least that is what I did.

Excellent weapon! Weighs less than half of the Cobra, with the same mag capacity.

Nice as usual. Have you ever tried a Holographic sight? I figured they'd be pretty tacticool and they can be bought cheaply at Aliexpress.com. Think it was 20 or so Euros.

Effort is considerable. This isn't a weapon for the weak

Seriously, I already thought about a longer weapon using the same prod, but with the sled attached to a 1:3 transmission. Power stroke is 17 cm only, that would mean a 51 cm cocking action. In other words the weapon would have to be 34 cm longer.

60 or 80 pound prod?

This one is the 80 pound version. But in reality I don't think it does 80. Probably exaggerated by the manufacturer. This fires the bolt at around 50 m/s.

Great weapon. I would have bet that the new one would be quicker to reload.
Nevertheless it looks like great fun.

Maybe a heat shaped pvc prod would be the go. Lower poundage with more draw length in a longer redesign would make for faster easier reloading and possibly more performance.

What about a pump-action, such as on Remington 870?

Been a big fan of your work!

Have you considered a sliding pump action grip, such as is on a shotgun?

It might make it a bit longer, but you may be able to fashion one (or get a cheap foreend for a Mossberg?) and adapt it.

That way, the cocking force is along the axis of the weapon, and would be easier for the rest of us mere mortals to cock it.

Keep up the great work!

I'd love to see you do some work with improvised arrows (ie ones with special tips) but the law may be too stringent to allow such experimentation.

I tested longitudinal (pump gun like) handles before, they don't work all that well. It is hard to hold on to them at high resistance. Keep in mind you have to overcome 80 lb force - a pump action shotgun only requires 5 lb.

Ich hatte schon zugehört und auch die Bilder gefunden. Mir war nur nicht klar, dass es sich dabei um die benannten Zeichnungen (Mehrzahl) handelt.
Denn im Beitrag ist "nur" eine Handskizze.
Daher bin ich davon ausgegangen, dass es ggf. "Irgendwo" andere drawings gibt.
