Hello Slingshootists around the world.

I'm a slingshot shooter and maker from New Jersey, a state in the US where slingshots are not allowed and can be confiscated on sight. i believe that property laws protect my shooting practice but i'm still careful. i've been following the forum and the Channel for over a year now and have gleaned a great deal of information.
i began as many do, with a Barnett Blackwidow before making an OTT natural and my first two boardcuts. Hurricane Sandy came through, overwhelming many surrounding towns with broken branches that they have only recently finished cleaning up. this has provided me with tons of natural forks that i will probably finish, band up and give away as gifts for christmas.
i figure Rufus Hussey used to give em away at first just to promote the sport so maybe this the best way to change laws, grass roots like. anybody else from the dirty jerz?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Too bad Sandy came where you live. I saw many things here on tv but i think they didn' t show half what happened really there. Hope you did not suffer too much damage.
I' m looking forward to see what you will make from those natural forks.
Cheers, Red.

tokSick,
i'm pretty far inland so i didn't get too badly effected while many around me lost power for days. all in all Sandy left me on top. and you're right, the areas that are bad are far worse than what they show on american TV. they like to throw around terms like "New Normal" but i find it funny that the definition of that term changes every day.

DaveSteve,
Amazon won't even ship them to me here. you have to go through Ebay or other companies that don't mind for production models or DIY. Home depot sells latex tubing that's comparable to daisy or barnett bands and 3/4 inch multiplex so the material is out there. as far as knives, i don't risk carrying anything bigger than a box cutter. and definitely no balisongs. in NJ freedom is relative.
