Just wanted to say hello and register for the SOG multi tool give away! I used to shoot sling shots as a boy. (In my 50's now!) I recently purchased a Crossman sling shot to scare away buzzards that were lighting in my trees. It is not legal to shoot them with a firearm here in Virginia so they have over populated and are making a nusance of themselves! My next door neighbor left some trash in his back yard, and one bird was feasting on some flesh and bones from the trash. I went down and bought a new Crossman sling shot, came home and fired a 3/8" hex nut at the bird. I did not even come close on the first shot. I followed up with another hex nut and hit within a few feet. That was enough to make the bird take wing. Since then, four of the buzzards have been coming back to a tall oak in my yard. I bought some small glass marbles and have taken a couple of shots. It was just enough to get the birds to fly away.
I see them circling every couple of days, but they don't roost in my trees anymore. This is a good thing as I have a small, old beagle (dog) that lays in the back yard on sunny days. I don't want the birds to swoop down and harrass her.
I did not know it was so easy to make your own slingshot. I have learned so much by watching the videos that have been posted Youtube! Thanks so much for posting these! This is a great channel and I really appreciate the work that you have done!
Sincerely,
Jake
