[IMG] Welcome to the forum, lueyh!

The nice thing to remember is that you are not limited to expensive latex in a survival situation. Office bands and whatever latex material you can find.

I've have not yet attempted it, but I remember reading somewhere a few months ago that someone made a double bandset with only 2 medical-grade latex gloves that he cut-up. The kind of latex gloves that you can find in any local pharmacy store. He recorded a chrony speed of over 350 fps with his make-shift inexpensive slingshot bands. Full butterfly and 1/4" steel ball.

Plenty of power for Zombie-fun! Pretty cool I think. :)

    thanks for the welcome everyone.

I have one question that s major in my book. where do i start when trying to make my own slingshot?
I know that i would have to draw something out. have seen many awesome slingshots, and they are all made with different materials, from wood to aluminum.

I am looking to get into this for the least money possible. i have some spare 2x4 pieces from a different project. is this an ok wood to use? if all goes well i plan on spending on better materials. this is just to get me feet wet.

I would recommend getting a piece of 3/4" high quality birch plywood (I get mine at Lowes in 2'x2' pieces). I had to look around, but finally found it. Then take this sheet of wood, transfer on a drawing and cut it out. Hope this helps
