The Jörg Sprave HandMortar (formerly known as ManuMortar) line is now ready to be presented to Cold Steel (tomorrow at the IWA show in Nuremberg).

Rubber, Osage Orange, Purpleheart and Red Cedar. Black, Red and Gold if you want (the colors of the German flag).

The red cedar one is a bit different, I used very thin 9mm Multiplex in order to "simulate" a steel frame. Works really good.

Red cedar - 55 gramms, Purple Heart - 85 gramms, Rubber = 125 gramms!

I will totally buy that when it's commercially available in steel, they look awesome!
I like the black one the most, already thinking of making myself one.. Is 18mm thick multiplex ok for flatbands and would you recommend it for butterfly Joerg?

Dropped it, it was kind of awkward. People can always mount the tubes over the top, or using gipsy tabs.

I think that was a good decision. Nice idea to use the colours of the German flag, and as Always, very nice work with the slingys!

Very good looking and nicely crafted slingshots.

Personally I would prefer a frame without steel, just fiber reinforced high strength plastic - lighter, cheaper, no corrosion and less hassle at airports. Hopefully Cold Steel will offer two versions. The fork may need to be thicker, but for pinch grip/finger support shooting a thicker fork would actually work better, I suspect.

I lost my words when I saw the slingshots. Still the black one is imo the most beautiful. Joerg, I hope you will announce a competition where first price will be the black beauty!
