Hello Joerg, hello everybody!

Name's Erih. Being of a Russian descent, I currently reside in Israel.

I am a leather craftsman and metalworker - I craft and sell different accessories made of leather and brass, themed in steampunk/dieselpunk style, for most part. I'm also being involved in SCA/Larp activities for the last 10 year - mostly in armorsmithing.

I was following Joerg's channel during this year, and while being particulary unfamiliar with slingshots, I was fascinated by his his skill and ingenuity, especially in regards of making rubber powered weapons. Lately, this facination turned into obsession and I just couldn't resist the urge to try and replicate some of Joerg's finest shooters, so now there is a stock of TBG and T-tube Silver here on my bench and I'm ready to start a project So wish me luck, guys!

Hello again, Joerg, and thank you for a welcome! You make marvelous wepons, and I just can't tell you how much inspiration I am getting from your channel! Heh, I bet you hear this a lot, though !

I am currently composing a message in the topic about you newest creation - the nail shooter. I don't want want to be too arrogant and ask pesky questions right after I say "hello", but if you'd be able to answer at least some of those questions, that would be much appriciated.

You see, I will cut the plywood with CNClaser, so I will be making a CAD blueprint this way or another. Now, if will know a couple of dimensions (nothing that can't be measured with a ruler in a timeframe of a minute, I swear ) - that would make my work much more precice.

On my part, I promise to make a PDF file with a printable blueprint of the weapon, once I'm finished, so everybody will be able to use it, and noobs like me wouldn't bug you with blueprint requests...well, at least not for this shooter, I guess

Anyway, thank you again for sharing your great hobby!

Zwillie

Well, just as I said, I am not particulary familiar with slingshots and other rubber based shooters, and I'm taking my first steps into this realm of mass destruction

Other than that I make stuff from leather and metal. And some armour for re-enactment and SCA battles, as well as weapons. It's a forum about slingshot, so I'm not going to post any pictures of these, but if you're just curious - click the link in my signature - it leads to my facebook page with lots of pictures of what I make on daily basis

Well, for the most part... I make goggles Brass and leather dieselpunk/steampunk goggles. And I can proudly say that I'm damn good at it Here is a link to my DA with some of my works http://ambassadormann.deviantart.com/

I might as well make a topic about leathercraft in an offtopic area. That is, if ther isn't already a topic like that )

Those really look amazing.
The leather is so clean and shiny...and that brass...are those thin gear-wheels also self made?
Thoses masks and goggles remind me a bit of Kroenen and Johann Krauss from Hellboy!

If they are comfortable to wear and also functional, not just for the looks, you may PM me if you like. I think they would be a nice addition for one of my Oldtimer Motorbikes.

Wow, thank you guys, thank you very much! It is always a pleasure to hear a kind word about my craftwork, especially from people who are also into craftwork.

Joerg - in fact, I'd love to make a custom set of protective goggles for you! But I'm not going to take any money for it, not from you Not from a person, who donates so much of his personal time and effort to share his skill with other people! So it will be a gift. Let me know what particular design you want me to make as well as the leather color, and as soon as the holiday rush will pass, I'll make it in no time!

To be honest, after me and my fiance (she's into leather/metal crafts) saw your videos for the first time, we were just like "OMG, this fellow is so amazing!! We need to send him our goggles!". No kiddin' . We wasn't sure though, if you'd like the style, though. But after you mentioned in one of your videos that you're into post-apocalyptic stuff, I was relieved - post-apoc. style is very close to what I make (but less shiny)

So, again, feel free to let me know what goggles's design you'd like to have, and it will be our pleasure to craft especialy one for you, Joerg.

Antraxx - the leather looks so shiny, because it was buffed with bee's wax, so nothing special, just an old trick, any veg-tanned leather can be finished that way.
The gears are hand made... Well, not particulary hand made - rather die-cut out of a brass sheet on a press. Point is - these were made for decoration purposes, but by implementing of the authentic gear making tech. It is much better than breaking old clockwork mechanisms for decor purposes, as some people do

Welcome (Privjet) Erih! That´s some very cool things youve been making. I wish I was capable of such craftmanship...

I´ve been trying to learn some russian but the only thing that stucked in my mind is "Jesli tjelavjek kuritj un plocha igrajet v futbol" that means "If you smoke you get bad at playing soccer". That is probably totally misspelled but I hope you get what I mean

Wow - what an offer!

While I will gladly accept your gift, I insist in making a special "steampunk" themed slingshot for you in exchange. A nice challenge, something I have never done before!

As you have noticed, I like post apocalyptic stuff - therefore I love these:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/117135332/steampunk-goggles-black-leather

This is very exciting.

Joerg - just sent you a PM regarding all the stuff.

Failure - that is pretty much all right The hardest part with learning foreign language, is when this language utilizes different scripts. Russian is not the easiest language to learn, and Cyrillic script doesn't helps either . But no sweat - I live in Israel for last 16 years and I still speak and write English much better than Hebrew - mainly because of the it's script, totally alien to a person speaking Latinic and/or Cyrillic based languages.

To all the guys - thanks again for the compliments! Happy Holidays, everybody!
