Hi all first post, I am from Australia been a fan of the slingshot channel for many years and of slingshots since I could hold one!

I have a few slingshots I have made mainly from Plywood (multiplex) but I am going to give Aluminium and Delrin a try.

My question is has any one used a slingshot made from Delrin. I think it may be to slippery to grip onto the bands.

No, but I have had a few delrin canes. It is very smooth with an almost waxy finish. I think you would be alright with good grooves cut for the bands though

Welcome! Glad to have you with us, you've come to the right forum!
Looking forward to seeing your work, sounds like you've been quite hard at it! I'm not familiar with Delrin...sounds like a pill for allergies though. ..:D

Welcome to the party--always room for another Aussie!

Some cool Delrin ss on here just this week. search for POM monster. Delrin is trade name (du pont methinks) for Acetal plastic and it has more names than a stray cat, appearently.

I don't know if theres more than one type of delrin, but for t/c rod bushings for autocross cars delrin is known for failure due to stress cracking. not sure of direct shock absorption from a fork hit though.
l4a, welcome to the evidence room, uh forum. ask questions, post pics, share knowledge. most of all have fun m8.
