I like to have my band width 4 cm at the forks and 3 cm at the pouch.

What would be the best way to attach it because my fork width is only 2 cm.

Should I fold the bands or should I cut it in half to have 2 strips with 2 cm x 1.5 cm on each side?

Would there be a difference?

Where should be the open side of the fold at the forks if I would do so?

Thanks guys.

    Hello DaveSteve,
Almost all of my forks tips are 2cm and i cut my bands 2cm/1,5cm × 2( 24cm).
The reason is if my band breaks it will be one of the four strips, then i have to change only one of them. The folded band is too bulky in my opinion, i just don' t like it.

The only difrence is that folded bands rip more sudden, so that is something you might want to avoid by using strips

I also don't like folded bands because I could never shot comfortable with that folded bands, so for me bye bye folded b ... but it's absolutely my personal opinion ...

you could try to cut the bands 6 cm wide to 3 cm wide. you could fold the 6 cm part into thirds so it would be 2 cm and attach that to the fork and attach the 3 cm part to the pouch. you would get better speed because it is a greater taper and you could use less layers.

I like folded bands, here's a piece of 9>6cm x 20cm of TBB per side, I would have to cut it in 4 pieces to attach it to this tiny PFS.

    Hey brat boon,
That way i get a good band life and enough speed/power. I am not searching real power or speed, i do only target shooting( beer cans) . If i want destruction i got one slingshot with destruction setup, more layers and steel rods as ammo( see Arturo Borquez' s topic) .
PS: I got +- 80cm draw.

Hmmm, that is an argument I hadn't really considered ... I used to prefer wider, folded band. because I had a shitty rollcutter and cutting the bands cleanly was hard, that way I only had to make half the number of cuts... but I am getting a really good one and with the much poorer life of bands vs tubes that might make real sense. TB isn't exactly cheap.

That a smart idea Tysonspapa, now i know what to do if it don' t cut anymore.
I' ve found out if i cut my bands on a glass surface it cut better, i don' t have a cutting mat.

It will cut better, but Not for long. Glass is harder than Most blades, including your cutter. Take a breakfast Board or a wooden plate instead.

I have just tried that (with a good superfine whetstone for putting the last polish on the edge of my kitchen knives), now cutting bands is super easy and the edges seem to be super smooth.

Seems like I spent the money for my good cutter for nothing. Oh well.

It'll be interesting to see whether the smooth edges improve bandlife. they ought to.

So far I only shot double TBG.

A lot of people don't seem to like folding their bands.

After watching an old video from Joerg about the 'fish hunter' I may try folding them one time on my next setup to try.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztpBkviDKIw
