Alright since I'm feeling a bit like blabbering, I'll post this simple ergonomic frame I carved from a log of dogwood.

Here you can see the sanded frame next to the other half of the log I split to get at this stuff. It was a terrible pain to flatten out since it split in a twisted manner, and all I had that was effective was an old rasp and a large plane. This stuff is dense enough to render my chainsaw useless.

It fits comfortably in the hand. Shown is my gangsta style shooting

Because this wood is so dense, I opted to finish it with mineral oil and paste wax. The resulting finish is very natural feeling.

I've had a real blast shooting it. It is very fast and relatively accurate, as I'm still getting used to finding the shot instinctively.

Ha, yes it it a bit bulky, but that makes it a very sturdy piece of work. I plan on replacing the target band set I have on it with a much more powerful set to really make use of this frame's strength.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

That is one beautiful ergo Captain .Joerg uses a lot of dogwood, and the only finish he does is buff with chrome polish. It is amazing the gloss he gets.Must be nice to have access to large dogwood . Up here it is mostly just scrub brush, with a large stalk about the size of a primary printer
