/Users/cai_ji/Desktop/IMG_0885.MOV
I shot a small file since i couldn't find bolts for it and the file went through nearly 900 pages of the yellow pages.

the idea of this project came from the "big brother of the JB pistol", but i made the barrel longer and the head bigger so it can take stronger rubbers. the trigger is made out of 6mm aluminium.

I have just finished it and haven't sand it properly so it doesn't look good, but i think i will do a paint job later.

Hi, that's good. I have made a SS crossbow myself some time ago and had trouble cocking the rubber because of the same problem.
So I made two of these things which I use as hooks to pull back the string and then I was able to pull 3 times the amount of TBG than with my fingers alone. I can pierce two 1" thick wafer boards with it, no problem.

Be really careful with the band attachment though, once the rubber slipped out at me while I was cocking the crossbow and gave me the worst hand slap ever, no bones broken but one of my fingers got instantly swollen and gray and I couldn't bend it for a day.

Why don't you make a small "sled", basically a wooden rectangular tube from four pieces of wood? Then you can cock the bands back way easier.

Like the one I use for my stink master.

Otherwise, good job!

I have considered that, but it is already really hard to cock for me, even with my feet stepped on both side of the head part and using my both hands. So I think I will not be able to cock it if I make it a pump action

You can still put your feet on the fork, but you pull on a solid wood sled instead of the string... and have no pinching + cutting problems.

Also if you put a layer of duct tape on where you attach the string to rubber it can protect the string

The best and most powerful solution is the sled I use for my nine inch nail shooter. A fat handle on both sides of the "barrel", a strong stirrup, and you will be able to cock insanely powerful bands.

The nine inch nail shooter has the sled handles perfectly in line with the barrel, this means there is NO canting. No canting means no friction.
But I think that will make it doesn't look good. I have already made the sled and it works fine. Thank you for the suggestion, man
