I have build so many slingshots, the last time, now slowly going out the names ..

After so many knives, there is also a new slingshot that I have built last week. The form is a copy of one of my first slinshots I've built (red devil) with a few improvements. Returning to the roots, sometime is useful :D
I love the round fork tips, gives me the opportunity to attach wide bands, without folding them at the fork.

I don’t know what that material in the middle section is, but what I know, that it is rock hard, I ruined my saw blade of my band saw when sawed out the shape. (I found it in the rest-box box at the hardware store a piece of 120 cm x 40 cm x 6 mm for 3 euros ... :D :) :D)
It is much heavier but just as stable as a 5 mm carbon plate, they sell it at the hardware store as construction panels ...?

Nothing really spectacular, but a very good and accurate shooter.

Finish as usual only hard wax Oil.
    I hope you like it...

I really like the looks of this! I am always amazed at how great multiplex looks when rounded and sanded. This is perfectly symmetrical!! Beautiful work!
The inside core is a mystery metal that ruined your saw blade? I wonder if its cast iron? That will certainly ruin a saw blade, I know that from experience!

...yes I've already thought that there are metal parts inside this mysteries plate. It looks like wood, but is heavier than aluminum and as I said incredibly stable. I am sure you could make a strong slingshot only from this 6 mm plate.

BTW, thank you very much for all the nice comments Will. :)

You’re absolutely right onnod. I found it on the internet under "Kompaktplatten"

For working with this material they recommend carbide tools. No wonder that my wood saw blade is rather dull now ...

Very interesting material! I wonder if they sell such a thing in the US? I would love to experiment with it! Thanks for the update, I was very curious
