in the last days i've been looking for something new, a little, funny, satisfying new project.
while wasting time on the internet i found some images about wooden spoons; i already knew how to make one of them but not without a hook knife, so i decided to take my dremel, a good piece of ebony and dive into this new project :)
after the shaping and rough sanding i realized that i could make something even better than a normal wooden spoon; at the end of the handle you can see a little shell, i foud a lot of them in sicily the last summer, they are called "occhi di Santa Lucia" (Saint Lucy's eyes)
it's been 2 weeks since the last sunny day, so i decided to take some pics even if it's rainy.

Very cool, but I don't think I'd eat with it. How did you get the shell into the end like that?

Very nice! I seem to remember that an ebony spoon was used to remove poison from food in ancient times. :)

That looks great, very nice work. The shell is a nice touch. I would be proud to eat soup from it ;)
