Hi,
for boardcutting slingshots you need a way to round the edges.
I made this routertable from some scrap multiplex,. an aluminium plate and standart Bosch router.
It is easy to fix it on a table ...and you can work.
For small pieces it is better to bring the wood to the machine.
There is a fence for long and straight slots which is easy to remove.

That' s a great idea zwillie.
If i had enough place here i would make one but it is impossible unless you can disassemble it and put all parts in a cabinet.

This is disassembled in 30 seconds.
The size is about 750mm x 300mm.
The fence is a seperate part, just open the screws and put it away.
The router is fixed with 3 screws with wingnuts to the aluplate.

    30 sec??? Are you joking??
That is really interesting man! I can' t figure out how you made it but if you can put some pics from above and how you attached the machine it would be nice.

    Hi,
here are some details if you want to make one.

You need some multiplex, a piece of 4mm aluminium, two clamps and a router.
Then you cut out the first board like in the picture.
I made it 2/3 of the width about 20 x 20cm.
The cut must be smaller then the aluminium.
The metal is mounted in a fold(?)

The second piece of wood is for the fence the cut should be rectangular if you need one. Cut also a little hole in the wood just bigger than your biggest routerbit.

On both sides I drilled a hole or the clamps.
The fence don`tt have to be parallel to the base, it`s not a tablesaw.
if you move 1mm on one side it`s just 0,5mm at the router, so you can adjust very exactly.

When I use routerbits with bearing guide I take the fence away.
I also work with aluminium on this, but take not too much material at once.

Zwillie

    nice tutorial
@flipgun, i think it would be safer to just buy a bandsaw, i is freaking scary to work with an upside down jigsaw too

Oh I forgot to say that the deep adjustment of the router works in the normal way.
My router got a 1/10mm scale.
I also use the router table to make äääämmm corner strips(?).

Here a video of a table like mine:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfoZdbLrcrU

His English is much better than mine
Zwillie
