This week the weather got cooler. No hot sticky stuff,no bugs-my time to do some woodworking! I finished these up this week and still have 4 more not shown in various stages of completion. Got me a few old laminated shelves which we turned into shooters. A couple of center leaf dining table blanks which we did the same thing with. Had a "Trex" "through the throat" Ergo frame that I was gonna use for marbles years ago. The thing just never shot right. I turned into an "Over the top" shooter by pressing in a thin piece of wood into the slots and sealing. While doing my cleanout for the Slingshot collection video, I found a whole case of Cats eye marbles I forgot I had. Some short range marble shooting will be in my forecast! I also have a few nice chunks of Osage so I promptly carved up a little pocket shooter. Also had some Curly Maple ( a favorite ) which we made a few Universal Ergo's from. I still have a bunch more to do. Tomorrow afternoon might be a good time for a spin around town to check on what people are throwing out for Monday's garbage pick-up. Possibly some more raw materials for more frames! Watch your garbage people-Flatband on the loose!

I love curly maple, and it looks good, picture with that lighting doesn't do it justice though.

Yeah, I could have cheated Ryan and run a little Witch Hazel over it to really bring out the curls! Curly Maple is a favorite of mine too. Sometimes you can get lucky if you check your local home Depot or Lowes. They buy so much for their stores sometimes a few planks will get through the Mills sorting and pricing process and you'll get a really Curly piece for a song. Otherwise it's E-Bay,flooring stores or an exotic wood store. Flatband
