I purchased one of those Chinese styled slingshots from eBay for about $ 6.00 USD,

So admittedly it was a cheapy, I obviously I didnt expect greatness for that price but i was curious to get one to see how it shot.

First time i un-packaged it, i tried to stretch out the bands alittle to get the ready to go have a shot outside.

It felt like the joint at the bands and the pouch were slipping, so I
pulled it alittle closer to the pouch to see if it was about to slip off

and the pouch just ripped completely in half lol

yeah I've read these frames are bad quality too, but i cant seem to bend it at all.
I put my whole weight on the forks, (85 kg) and its didn't budge

though i think ill just leave this unbanded and as a decoration piece, and take the snapping of the bands as a warning lol

Okay just alittle update/Question related to another cheap slingshot i received in the post today

Heres the slingshot and the bands provided,

The attachment method is the same as the one below (which i also received today) This one came banded

but my question is related to the top one, I cant seem to get the bands through the slots (obviously i took the steel balls out first) I tried every way to push it through i could think of but I cant get it in

do people have a method to get these in, or was i sent the wrong sized bands?

If i had a drill i would just drill the holes out alittle bigger, but unfortunately i dont

any ideas?

Cut the end at an angle so it makes a sharp point you can pull through to get it started and then trim it off straight once it's through. Maybe even put a dab of soap on the end to make it slip through.

These cheap slingshots are mostly dankung copies. Most of them will probably shoot fine, but to my understanding the problem is with the material. They are advertised as stainless steel, but they are actually made of a very brittle zinc alloy material. Get one with an air pocket in the fork and put heavy bands on it and you are liable to have a fork sticking out of your forehead. Just be careful and stick with light bands if you're going to use them.

Two actually, Can't wait till them bad boys arrive!

these are just alittle mess about toy

thanks for the concern though mate, maybe i should swap out the saftey glasses for a grinding mask when shooting these

Another method for getting the tubes through the holes:

SInce you're using single non-looped tubes, just feed the end of the tube through the paperclip and fold it over. Should work the same way.

I agree with cb. If you're gonna shoot them don't use anything strong. Use like the Chinese 20*40 bands and leave them a bit longer than really necessary. Should be fine for occasional light duty plinking and stuff. They could also be fine for heavier bands, but there's really no way to know that without having them x-rayed. That's the trouble with these things.
