Those are some gorgeous carvings! It looks to me like you could carve about anything you could imagine. Since slingshots and carvings are your two hobbies have you thought of doing a slingshot carving? I don't mean carving an actual functional slingshot, but making an ornamental carving that has to do with slingshots. For example: a carving of someone holding/shooting a slingshot, a carving of a fantasy slingshot that looks awesome but wouldn't be practical/possible in reality. I don't know, man. Something along those lines.

How about carving something into a slingshot, like a face, yin-yang, cross, decorative lettering, or something

GREAT WORK ONNOD! You have real talent there! This guy here won't shut up claiming he's a related "woodspirit" of those guys... Keep up the good work, whatever your next project becomes!

What kinds of wood are you using? The one i posted is sugar maple. It holds good detail but it is far harder than needed! That's why he has just sat in the corner unfinished for months. Basswood is much more relaxing and enjoyable. If your into fishing at all, carving your own lures is a good project idea too! Here we have a spearing season for northern pike and musky through the ice. So carving/building large decoys that have copper or aluminum fins and actually swim in ascending/descending circles when the tie line is "jigged." Lots of Youtube videos on both lures and decoys.

i'll use every type i can find, i can't name most of them but i do know beech and hazle, both are really hard to carve but i can work with it ;)

i have used my own lures to fish pike, never had anything on them though... the pike here tend to like my rubber perch lures better(same material as used for shads) , they've allready ripped apart a lot of them;)
