And you are wondering if wrist braced slingshots are legal in California? Or simply stating you intention of building one?
California laws are wrong. period. Feel free to break them as desired.

Both actually
+1,000,000! I feel a day in Cali is not complete until you break at least 1 completely asinine law. 2 or more is better though.

California laws are some of the most asinine I've seen. I'm very happy I do not live there.

Honestly, I hate California. :/ laws are unclear, stupid, and the people here r nuts(in the area I live). I can't tell u how many laws I've broken( retarted laws). The worst part is the cops, very serious and uptight. They give tickets for being .5 m/h over the speed limit. I wish I was back in North Carolina.
I could go pull up the actual law but I'll go with the short version, you can buy slingshots at every walmart I have been into. Walmart won't sell cds with cursing so you should be safe to go off "if they carry it" it probably won't get you into any trouble lol.

I second that.

Honestly you must be in a crappy area, we may have lame laws but its the most naturally diverse state in the nation. No other state can go from desert to snowy peaks to sandy beaches, old growth forests, rainforest and so on. The California city folk may be a bit obtuse at times, but I've found as a general rule that you get what you give in this great state. As I've lived here my entire life, I've found that outsiders are easily as guilty of being nuts, they came here willingly;-).

On the way to California

When the West was being settled a prospector stopped in a town on the way to California.
"Hey old timer" he says to a white haired man in the square, "What are the folks like round here?"
"What were they like in your last place?"
"Gee they were swell. Sorry to leave: generous big hearted and kind"
"Well you'll love it here they are just the same in this town."

That afternoon a man on horseback thunders into town.
"Hey old man what are the folks like round here?"
"What were they like in your last town?"
"Couldn't get out fast enough: crooks the lot of them."
The old man gets up slaps the horse and shouts
"Keep on riding son they'll steal the horse from under yer!"

California has some of the most backward laws anywhere. My job has taken me all over this country, so I've got a pretty good sample of how thing work in other places.
Now, don't get me wrong, I've lived my entire life in California, and I love the natural splendor that the state has to offer. However, that is quickly becoming one of the last things I really appreciate about it.
A good example: our unemployment system is a broken-down mess. Not only is it one of the lowest amounts paid per week (ironic, its one of the most expensive states in which to live), but any time a person has to call the number 341 times before getting thru...well, that's just a pile of inexcusable crap, in my opinion.

The laws here aren't bad on slingshots, just on blowguns, firearms and things that go boom lol.
Owning slingshots is fine. As has been said before Wallmart, Kmart and Bass Pro Shop all sell a good variety of slingshots and slingshot ammo.

But it is good to be cautious because California weapons laws are erratic. Blowguns are illegal. Anything labeled a club is illegal but baseball bats are fine. Most traditional martial art weapons are, if not illegal, are heavily restricted. I can't own a billy club but I can own a mace. Shuriken are illegal but throwing knives and tomahawks are legal. Checking legality before buying or making weapons in California is prudent,
Try carrying a baseball bat without the rest of the required equipment to play baseball and see what happens. My buddy got arrested after he found one and forgot it was behind the seat in his truck.
Now you all know why I vacated that liberal state.
I'm an attorney in by day (although licensed in CT and AZ, not CA). In addition to criminal statutes applicable statewide, be careful to check online for the county code applicable to your county, and to check the municipal code for your city.

Yes. I was only talking about having them in your home. Of course none of these restrictions have reduced crime.

I have bought many Daisy F-16 wire sling shots from Walmart, and as a matter of fact, leaving the house now to buy a few more.

I have bought so many the sales folks ask what I do with them, I have brought them in to show and they were very impressed. I told them the how and why and they took an interest.

If they were close to being against the law in Kalifornia, Walmart would pull them in a heartbeat.

wll
I thought this was a poll, I was prepared to check the "suck" block.;)
