I read about cactus wood, that it could be hard as stone when dried out.
Here in Europe there are no big cactus, so it would be nice and interesting if someone tells about cactus wood and their ability for slingshots. Are there any photos of cactus slingshots? Thank you.

Bad idea. It cant be sealed so that means it is subject t termite who love cactus wood and rotting. Dont even go through with it.

I like the way it looks. You can seal it with a good bath of resin. In my country there is an oil that works as a repellent to termites, called "peroba oil", too.

I like your Idea. Out here we got cactus everywhere many different kinds. I know of many people that use it to make various wood projects. I'v used it, some kinds are very tough and versatile but I never thought of using it for a SS. And pending on the kind It is very easy to seal, works just the same as wood. Seal it with any oil based wood seal (I like boiled linseed oil), I'v even seen some use cheap clear spray paint. :)
