Spent a couple of hours today sawing the design out from 12mm plywood/multiplex.
It's not perfect because I'm not great with a jigsaw, but I should be able to just sand it down where needed.

Thanks for looking

PandaMan

It would have been cool if you finished your piece then showed us because it would have made a nice sort of picture story if you get what i mean?

Yeah. I haven't been able to do anything further than what is in that picture because I don't have a drill or any glue at the moment. I'll post pictures when the next stage is complete.
Thanks for the interest

PandaMan

Okay, I'm reviving this dead thread now. I have almost finished. The rest is just aesthetics.

Here it is next to a 2l bottle for scale

Here, you can see I left one of the bolts too long. This was an accident at first, but I decided to keep it that way.

I decided I'd use anodised steel for the rollers so that they would not wear. Also it was readily available, so it was just more convenient.

The reason I left the bolt longer is so that I could make some screw on accessories, for quick and easy switching. Here is a foregrip

and here is a bipod.

I plan to, after sanding it down a bit, give it a few coats of black spray paint. If it weren't plywood/multiplex, I would oil it. I might make one out of mahogany or iroko for use with weaker bands.
I also plan to add a scope.

Thanks for looking

PandaMan

Geat job P.M. That bipod looks so cool.
I just have to advise you good eyes protection, be carefull for others and for yourself too. That toy can be dangerous. I like to shoot and destroy things with mine but i still don' t trust that thing because of an accident i had with it while i was cocking it.
