First you cut a piece of pipe from (what you want to, aluminum, brass, copper, ...) It must be slightly longer than the hole into which you want to glue it. I rough the surface with a saw little bit. Then I put in one side a tissue or paper, to prevent the adhesive from entering the tube. Simply cut the supernatant. Mix some Epoxy and put some in both sides of the hole. Put some more epoxy on your small tube. Then push your tube (the closed side with the paper first) slowly inside your hole by rotating it to the left and the right. When it is all in you withdraw it a little bit, so that the adhesive is spread evenly on both sides. After drying you can cut the protruding pieces with a saw and feile it evenly. For feiling and sanding your tube, you have to wait until the glue is really dry. Also with 2 minutes epoxy you should have to wait at least two to three hours, because when the glue is not dry properly, you will work the fine sanding dust of aluminum or brass into the glue. Then you will get ugly black edges. To deburr the end of the pipe, you can use various tools. A larger drill than the tube can be used for this also. This is important so that your lanyard is not torn. I hope I could help some folks around here to improve their working skills… Hello Admin / Jörg, it is possible to make a separate category for it, so that everyone can show us his tips and tricks? That would be great, thank you…!
