I was wondering if anyone knew what the best type would be for a newb. I like the look and power of the hammerhead but I don't want to end up doing this:

Would one of the models that you put your pointer and thumb on the forks be better/safer to learn on?

    Thanks!

For starters I recommend "the Dragon" by Hrawk. I think there is a Blueprint on the BP-section. (The dragon is a support-style frame)

most important things for beginners are higher forks and light bandset with relatively save ammo.

I guess the pocket predator is ok, too depends on your style. Also, if you will shoot balls, not stones, then go with a center punched pouched.

You can make one youself, it is not that complicated :)
or you can buy this for 35eur, and i will offcourse make a bandset for you too :)

The two predators differ the way you say, the band setup.

One is over the top, and the other one the bands follow the ammo through the forks.

That's what the OTT and TTF acronyms are. Personal preference is really the difference. OTT can yield more power, but can also have nastier handslaps because the leftover energy is on a path toward your frame hand knuckles instead of out and over them.

OTT is more popular nonetheless, there are ways around handslaps.
