I bought a new one earlier this year (£10) when I saw it in the gun shop, and had to buy it out of nostalgia! It shoots OK, but not much 'character' or power. From the royal decree of 30 march 1983:
" All catapults with a kinetic energy transfer, measured at two meters from the shooter, higher than 2.1582j are ranked in the prohibitated weapons" .
That' s the law here.
If i consider the maximum kenetic energy alowed here, i think i can say ALL slingshots are prohibited weapons here. Damn it!!!!

I just checked and it seems the maximum for bows is 7.5 joules .

in france, slingshot bows and crossbows are in the 6th category of weapon classification. so the carry is prohibited but the transport is not, and you can own one without a problem.
blaskpowder guns are in a different categorie (9th) but it's the same, only the carry is prohibited.

edit: oups only the "competition slingshots" are prohibited to carry ..... so what is a competition slingshot ??

In Germany, bows are unrestricted, crossbows are legal to own if 18 jears or older.

The armrest-thing came up when 3rd generation RAF used them to shoot at police-officers(and killed a few:eek:)

It's funny, the exact same Black Widow (new model) slingshot is sold in Germany as the "Cobra" of course without the wrist support.
I had myself one of those like 6 years ago and still have it and use it occasionally, but gotta say compared to my selfmade slingshots (hammerheads and dragons) its just terrible, terrible aiming
When the tubes broke I attached therabands. The Power got way better, the aiming... still terrible, terrible! :D

Now I have it near my bed, as a self defense measure in case someone breaks and enters my house at night.
You can tell that I'm a real altruist because I sport even robbers a really good chance of getting away with it! :D

(Disclaimer: I'm a really good marksman, so dont you come near my house at night :D)
