I'm fairly new to slingshots, and my old one just broke. As a replacement, I've decided on either The barnett Black Widow, or the Barnett Diablo. Which do you think is better for a beginner like me? Or, which other type of slingshot would you point me in the direction of?

I see. How is it better to the diablo? I've seen reviews say that it's amazing, but I've also seen that for the diablo. What are the key differences?

Well, rules, there are no real rules in building, but i could give you some tips. Could you show what you made so we could have a look to see what you could improve?

    I am with onnod.
Those are looking nice but if you want to carry it in your pocket you got to have a big one for that diablo .... .
I am pretty sure you will have the same( maybe more) power/speed/accuracy with a homemade.

Well, some tips then. First material: i would go for multiplex/plywood, this is strong and nice. I would go for 18 mm. Second design: choose a design you think looks good but i would go for a simpeler design. Third the making: i would use a (if you have one) jig- or bandsaw, but a scrollsaw works too. The rough fininsh can be done with a rasp. Make Sure that your angle is right: you should gold it in a prefered 45 degree angle. After that go to files and sandpaper untill you are pleased or can't take it anymore. Last is finish: you could use lost of types of finish, but varnish is nice and strong.
Well these are some tips, if something is unclear just ask.

  16. Check the band calculator, it will have a bunch of info on TBG for you. More than I can post here quickly.

I also say build your own and put some good flat bands on it. I'm new too and that's what I did. It's super rewarding and you will love the way it shoots. I shot wrist rockets as a kid and realize now that they suck.
