If you want power i suggest bands, but if you want long life i hear tubes are wheres its at.
I have used tubes but they are not my favorite, i perfer theraband gold.
I cut my bands to 8 inches long giving an inch on each end for attaching to the pouch and forks, and cut them 2cm's wide. I do not taper my bands because they do not last as long.
They are great target shooters and for hunting you can double layer the bands if need be.

No problem.. Alot of people say to pull you bands to the limit to get max power but i only pull mine to about 90% and along with the measurments i use to cut my bands i get well over 4000 shots out of my bands using 16mm marbles

TreStates, this is good news to me. I hesitated to order Thera Band because I always read it doesn't last long.

I read about 200 shots and you have to replace them. Well, I do shoot 200 times a day easy. I thougth I never could afford them. Also the initial costs for a roll cutter and and cutting board is about $40.

After your experience with untapered bands I will give it a try.

Depends upon how a given slingshot is designed. I use tubes on my factory ones, like Trumark, Marksman, Barnett, etc., skinny tubes on my Chinese style shooters, and flats (Thera, gum, or generic latex) on my boardcut and natural Y slingshots. They all work, you just need to experiment and figure out what combo of frame and band type you like. Of course, for some of us (like me, lol) it's a never-ending quest. Sometimes I think flats are my faves and other times I think I like tubes better. Nevermind trying to decide on a specific style of slingshot. Good thing slingshots are a fairly cheap hobby, so you don't have to decide on just one type of anything if you don't want to.
