2. I use surgical tube currently (waiting on TTB) and will continue to use tubes, I know bands are faster but I need something that will hold up as I tromp through the trees stalking squirrels and rabbits, I of course do not taper them as they are surgical tube. I shoot 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch steel balls usually from a 1/2 inch by about 2 inch leather pouch. 36 inch & around 85 pound draw, not sure the specs as I have no chronny but I shoot the 3/8 inch through 4 empty beer cans, the 1/2 inch goes through the first can with such force that it knocks all the other cans down rather than penetrates them but does so at speeds I can barely track with my eye (and I can usually track my arrows so it's probably the size I don't know if they are faster than the arrows from my compund bow). I am currently just doing lots of target practice, I'm a crack shot with a bow or a rifle, and decent with a pistol, but I'm still getting used to the way slingshots aim and shoot, but when I feel confident that my aim with a SS is up to snuff I will be using it to take squirrels and rabit mostly. I am making my next shooter (Nothung) to be able to shoot arrows as well as ball ammo, though it is for fishing more than hunting with the arrows. I have a bow for deer and such larger game.

Hope that helps you get a sense of how one guy from california spends his time slinging.

There is plenty of them here in belgium and you don' t need a licence to kill them. .
3 weeks ago i was walking at the station with a friend, i was just telling him that i don' t like pigeons and guess what... one of those fother muckers just shit on my glasses so i might shoot one for revenge.

Currently I shoot tapered Thera Band Black 9>6cm, 18cm active length, one layer per side.
I use 12mm steel, 16mm marbles, 17mm paintballs and 16 mm aluminum tin foil balls around the house.
Pouch is 2mm thick pig skin, 7.5cm x 1.5cm, weighs about 0.8 gramm.
I have 93cm draw length to cheek and the 12mm steel balls fly incredibly fast with this setup.
I'm still learning to aim intuitively with PFShooters/Dguis method.

I use mainly two setups 1) tapered 20mm - 10mm - 28cm length - 2 layers and 2) "double tapered bands" 15mm to 20mm - 10cm - 20mm - 2cm - 20mm to 15mm 16cm (28cm total length) 2 layers, both setups TBG gives me very good speed, "double tapered" lasts more shots which pays the extra work, my ammo are 11mm and 12mm steel balls and steel rods 1/2" ranging from 9gr to 14gr, for the pouches I buy a chinese Daisy band replacement and throw away the yellow tubes, my preferred targets are steel cans because I love the sound when hitting (feels hard) very relaxing and I shoot mainly from 10m to 15m sometimes to 20m (more difficult to hit but doable), I draw past my right shoulder 110cm aprox.
